PV is abbreviation of Plastic Viscosity.

In general the PV depends primarily on the solids content (size, type and concentration). PV (cps) = 600 Reading - 300 Reading.

PV is very temperature sensitive and therefore should be reported at a standard temperature each time it is tested. If temperature isn't standardized the trend of PV, used to analyze hole problem can not be used.

PV has a tremendous influence on cut points in hydrocyclone and shaker screen capacity if a mud wanted to be diluted due to a rig time limit and number of Solid Control Equipment (SCE) on board.

A drilling process is quite routine with a mud system, every thing depends on Max ROP designed with bring out all cutting out of hole simultaneously, small particles from shale hydration & dispersion is still inside the mud system along with barite as a weighting agent. This type of solid content made PV increase and in increase from time to time if SCE inefficiency.

If PV is high, due to high solid content cause a lot of problem: mud properties are out of order, Heavier MW, higher Fluid loss, API cake is built, and Drilling Tools/equipment pitted, Down hole washout, Drill pipe washout, Mud pumps liner replacement downtime, Hole cleaning problem due to cutting bed found quickly and finally as you can see is " HOLE PACKED OFF" and get stuck.

PV plays very inportant role in Mud hydraulics, if you change in PV, pump pressure will be chnaged accordingly.

When your SPP reachs limit of your pump, you can condition with lower PV if if still want to keep GPM unchnaged.

Em cũng mới có một phát hiện hay hay, trong bất cứ hệ SBM thì PV của dầu nền lúc nào cũng ALAP
Lý do?
Theo quan điểm về dung dịch khoan, điều chỉnh các thông số là việc của hóa phẩm

Nhặt kiếm lên và đi vào rừng thẳm, quyết thế!

Why PV must be kept ALAP in mud? Just simply remember in your mind that PV=SOLID.
That is a sensitive tool to know SOLID comes to mud when PV go up.

Example: new mud with PV=12, YP =18. After 1 day drilling, mud engineers did not mix any viscosifier in active mud system, PV go up 24, YP=20. That example tells u that SOLID came to mud system too much. Solid control system did not work properly. Should dilute active mud system to control solid in mud to prevent hole problems.

in SBM: Remember that WATER = SOLID. so, there are 2 kinds of solid in SBM: active solid = real solid and in-active solid = water. You can explain as above.

Keep everything simple in your mind to enrich the difficult ones.
